Aretha Franklin's Health is Getting Better:Detroit News

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (AP) — Aretha Franklin says "the side effects were rough" from her
treatment for an undisclosed condition.
The Queen of Soul spoke Wednesday at the Southfield Westin hotel, where she sang Etta
James' "At Last" at the piano.
The 71-year-old Franklin tells reporters that she's "glad to be back in it."
The Detroit News (http://bit.ly/18mUgFb ) says she spoke before starting production with
producers Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds and Don Was on an album she's recording for Clive Davis.

Franklin says she was supposed to record with Edmonds in July, but her medical treatments
made that impossible. She says Davis had the idea that she work with Was, who's known for
his work with the Rolling Stones, Bonnie Raitt and Willie Nelson.
She canceled several concerts earlier this year for health reasons.
