Why Donald Trump needs to be Impeached
At his rally this week, Donald Trump told his supporters he was a nationalist. Most of us would classify ourselves as patriots, not nationalist because nationalism in American have been mostly associated with Nazism and hate groups. Webster defines Nationalism as: “patriotic feeling, principles, or efforts”. Nation states such as Africa and Asia used nationalism as a rallying cry to organize their population against imperialism. Nationalism in western societies has been reactionary in form and practice.
In Germany, the Fascist Party developed a term called National Socialism which rose” out of attempts to create a nationalist redefinition of "socialism", as an alternative to both International socialism and free market capitalism. Nazism rejected the Marxist concept of class conflict, …and sought to convince all parts of the new German society to subordinate their personal interests to the "Common good”. Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazism)
In the United States, hate groups and several Nazis type organization refer themselves as White nationalist which is another form of nationalism or pan-nationalism. This belief” “espouses the belief that white people are a race and seeks to develop and maintain a white national identity. Its proponents identify with and are attached to the concept of a white nation. White nationalists say they seek to ensure the survival of the white race, and the cultures of historically white states. They hold that white people should maintain their majority in majority-white countries, maintain their political and economic dominance, and that their cultures should be foremost. Many white nationalists believe that miscegenation, multiculturalism, immigration of nonwhites and low birth rates among whites are threatening the white race, and some argue that it amounts to white genocide. Donald Trump is not a nationalist but a globalist. The United States is a global power with political and strategic interest all over the world. Trump proclaimed himself a nationalist in a speech last week with a wink wink nudge nudge. The purpose was to energize his extremist wing for the mid-terms and the 2020 elections. The real White nationalist in his administration is Stephen Miller, Communication Secretary and his Steve Bannon his former Chief of Staff at the White house. They both have ties and links in the white nationalist movements in the US and around the world. They do not share Trump’s globalist views. Their aim is to use Trump to further their own political goals. They want to remove all administrative officials associated with what they call the “deep state”. Once all opposition is removed, they can begin to dismantle the government and set-up a white nationalist state.
In Europe, white nationalist and extremist groups or winning elections and gaining power in European parliaments. In Brazil, far-right candidate Jair Bolsonaro won the presidential election. He wants to set-up another dictatorship in Brazil. In Germany, Chancellor Angela Merkel will not seek re-election because a far-right party has won most of the seats in parliament. We should be concern here in the United States because most of these far right-wing parties are being influenced by what they see happening here. Many are using some of the same language to attack liberal institutions and the press.
Donald Trump’s leadership is having a destabilizing effect around the world. Destabilization is what created the material conditions for World War 1 and World war 11. World War 1 (July 28 1914-November 11, 1918) was basically a war to divide up the world among the imperialist powers. On 28 of July 1914, Gavril Princip a Bosnian Serb and a Yugoslav nationalist assassinated the Austro-Hungarian heir Archduke Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo which led to a crisis. On July 23, Austria-Hungary issued an ultimatum to Serbia. Alliances began forming all over Europe and around the Globe. Germany became part of what was known as the central power. The central power included Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire. The United States became part of the allied powers which included Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy, Romania, Japan.
The war ended with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles on November of 1918. Germany was blamed for the war and was put on rations. All of her colonial possessions were divided up among the allies. The German people felt humiliated and most historians felt this situation is what created the conditions for the second world war. Hitler was able to win the heart of the German people by convincing them that he would restore Germany’s glorious past.
Today, Trump is refusing to uphold many US treaties negotiated by previous presidents and is threatening to remove US troops from countries around the world. His policies would eventually create a power vacuum which would lead to instability around the world. Small proxy wars could spend out of control and engulf major superpowers. Russia, China, United States and the European powers will begin to form new alliances which would eventually lead to a third world War. Donald Trump needs to be impeached and removed from office. The longer he remains in office, the more dangerous and destabilizing the world will become.
